In the individual sentences for this exercise, "reconnaît" sounded odd, almost as if it began with a "co" - not the same as the full text recording.

Hi Anne,
I have listened to the recording (without looking at the text) and the -re of 'reconnaît' is there albeit quite soft.

Bonjour à tous,
When learning a new language, your brain filters sounds according to what you know and the sounds it is "familiar" with. So, you sometimes think you've hear a sound, but, in reality, it is not present at all. Hence, hearing "coconaît" for example.
Also, when doing a listening exercise, you have to use external elements on top of your grammar skills, especially, if you think you are hearing a word that does not make much sense. So it's important to keep an eye out for the context, the topic and use one's common sense.

I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
I think the same what Anne said, it sounded coconnaît no matter how many times I played it. But when I tried transcribing the same on my phone using google translate it was able to pick it up as reconnaît, I am not sure how to pick such subtelty in pronounciation.
Same for me. Doesn't matter how many times I listen to it the word sounds like it starts with "co" even when I know it's "re".
