seulement vs ne... que

Why is "Nous avons seulement deux chambres" incorrect?

I understand why "Nous n'avons que deux chambres" is correct, but if I understood the lesson correctly then the option with seulement should simply be informal, but correct just the same.

Both are correct. Seulement is more colloquial then ne..que.

In English there is something similar:

You have only two rooms. (simple and gets the job done)
You have but two rooms. (more eloquent and formal)

The question asked you to select all correct options. This is why you only got half mark, if you haven't selected both options.
