I’m not sure here why souhaite ends with an ‘e’ when it’s prefixed by a vous? Is it irregular?

Je is the subject and souhaite matches it. Vous is the indirect object.

I think it's because souhaite is correct for Je.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve (incorrectly) conjugated the verb based upon the object!
