Hi,

I wonder why is it "sur Orléans" and not "à Orléans" ?

This question relates to:French dictation exercise "Finding an apartment in Orléans"

The preposition 'sur' has many meanings and here it means 'in the direction of' Orléans, so it might be in Orléans itself but the person searching for an apartment would probably accept nearby.
