There it is

There it is

I'm not a native english speaker, but isn't "there it is" (which is given as an incorrect option in the quiz) also used as an expression of relief, just like "finally" or "that's it" or "there you go", depending on the context?

I agree. I am a native English speaker, and I also chose ‘There it is!’ as the answer, and was marked wrong. But I think it is equivalent to ‘That’s it! in the context. The meaning of these phrases depends to some extent on how they are said, the intonation.

Bonjour à tous,

"There it is!" is more the equivalent of the famous French phrase "voilà !" As Stephen pointed out, in this context, "Ça y est!" is equivalent to "that's it / It's done!" as they are pointing out that they've finally arrived.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée!

Bonjour Daniel, In a word the answer is yes. For example, I am in the garage looking for an item. I spot the item and then I might say «there it is» and that would, indeed, be an expression of relief. J'espère que cela vous aiderait. Bonne chance.

I made the same mistake again in this quiz. "Here it is" and "That's it" look like synonyms to me in some situations. Can someone please make the answers less similar?

You are right Daniel, I am an English native speaker and none of the translations felt natural to me in the context of that question.  I was confused regarding the French translation for that reason.
Hope this feedback note helps improvements for the next writing :)
