Touque vs bonnet?

Pour quoi il faut utiliser "bonnet" dans cette histoire? Est-ce que le mot "touque" et aussi acceptable? Je crois que "touque" est le propre mot pour un chapeau d'hiver en Canada.

Bonjour T.K.,

In France, there is a word 'une toque'. This refers to a fur hat normally like those worn in Russia.  It is also used to describe what a chef or a jokey wears.

Having researched it, the word is sometimes used with different spellings in Canada for what is a beanie ( a wooly hat) although not in France, where it would be 'un bonnet'.

Hope this helps!

Bonjour TK,

The requirement is for a hat to wear for the cold weather.

Have a look at these links. I think they may aid your understanding:-
