Est-ce 'sur le plancher' remplace 'sur le sol / par terre' ?plancher ça veut dire floor????Merci

Hi Archana, 
I would personally avoid using 'plancher', particularly in a bathroom, as it denotes a floor made of wood ( planche = plank of wood). 
au sol/sur le sol/par terre = on the ground, on the floor.
