Unambiguously time in french on quiz

Question

Hi,To my understanding when I do see the word unambiguously I only use the 24hr clock? I have been reading the Qs and As and from what I had read with Maartens response it sounds like it only uses the 24hr clock? Would that be correct?

Bonjour Nicole,
If one of the test questions related to this lesson asks for users to tick all the ways to unambiguously say a time, you can tick answers using the 24 hour clock (which is unambiguous in itself) as well as the ones using the 12 hour clock + du matin / de l'après-midi / du soir.

Bonjour Nicole,
If the question is asking for the ways to unambiguously say "three fifteen PM", you can say "quinze heures quinze" or "trois heures et quart de l'après midi".
This following applies:
"When the time expressed uses hour numbers above 12 (in the "24-hour clock" -> 13h, 14h...), you use instead quinze, trente, quarante-cinq, probably for pronunciation (and elegance) reasons."
quinze heures quinze
but
"When the time expressed uses hour numbers under 12 (with either clock), you use et quart/et demie/moins le quart, and not quinze/trente/quarante-cinq."
trois heures et quart de l'après midi

So when the question is three fifteen unambiguously I can do trois et quart de l'après midi? Or do I use the quinze heures et quart?
