Use of future simple for "asseoir"

Question

On the Eurostar, you will sit close to the doorDans l'Eurostar, vous vous assiérez près de la porte
Is the the use of future simple here common in daily French? My understanding is that the use of the reflexive implies the action of sitting down, rather than the idea of being seated somewhere. Would a more natural way of expressing this be:
Dans l'Eurostar, vous serez assis près de la porte.
I realize they have different meanings, but it seems a bit odd to refer to the action of sitting down in this context.

Yes, the use of Le Futur Simple is quite common in French. Take a look at the following examples:

Tu viendras me voir demain ? = Will you come and see me tomorrow?
Je serai là ! Promis, juré ! = I will be there! Cross my heart, hope to die!

As for "Dans l'Eurostar, vous vous assiérez près de la porte", you could imagine a teacher telling their students to do this. And "Dans l'Eurostar, vous serez assis près de la porte" could be someone at the ticket booth telling a customer where they'll be seating on the train. None of these sentences are strange in any way.
