Using aussi with past tense

Using aussi with past tense

For a previous question, I got a lovely response about placing "aussi" after the verb, but I see that in the phrase "J'ai aussi demande "(needs an accent ague), "aussi" goes in the middle of the verb.  Is that the rule?

For most adverbs in compound tenses, yes. It mostly holds for «aussi». However, aussi is one adverb that moves around a lot, in spoken French especially. (I don't recommend the 2nd link for reading but it is an academic reference I found when trying to understand the same question you are asking)
