In the first example, the tu form of the verb changes in the imperative, ie, the 's' is dropped. Why?

the attached link is included in the lesson you refer to. 

It covers the conjugation of regular verbs in the imperative form, with specific notes on the verb form with ‘ tu ‘ and -er verbs.

Why ? - as with many grammar rules, it is just the way it is. ( There are often historical or linguistic reasons,  that may or may not be or have been ‘logical’, even at their origin. )
