Hi Alfredo,

If I have understood your query correctly....

Desservir is the correct verb for - to service a region, a market , a town, an airport  etc...

So in the present tense It would be-

"Nous desservons toute la région."

Hi Truc Thanh,

The difference here is - who is serving whom?

Resservir means that someone is giving a second helping to someone else.

Se resservir means that you are giving yourself a second helping, no one else is involved in the action.

Hope this helps!

Wow, your explanation is very clear. Thanks so much.

Why is 'desservir' to clear and to service at the same time?

Bonjour Fiona !

Here it's one of those weird cases in French where usage has rendered a prefix meaningless in some contexts.

In the same vein, you also have "rentrer" being used to express "to come in" (entrer) as well as "to come back".

I hope that's helpful!
Bonne journée !

Thank you Aurélie.

Although the lesson deos not specify that I simply encountered it in the quiz and got a wrong answer for it.
