European Day of Languages

This week is the European Day of Languages (Friday September 26), so we’re taking this opportunity to celebrate all the many wonderful languages of the world, through the French language of course! 🥳

Here’s a fun language fact to show off during your multilingual get togethers: did you know that although the EU has 24 official languages, there are actually close to 250 languages indigenous to the European continent!?! 🤯

Alors, sans plus attendre, let’s speak up about the lilting French Kwiziq content we’ve selected for you! 💬

À la française – Mini Podcast

Idiomatic Expression

Let’s start with a new episode of our idiom podcast À la française, focused on an oddly specific (and hilarious!) French expression that highlights the difficulty to learn another language… especially if you’re a cow apparently 🤷‍♀️

“parler français comme une vache espagnole”

Languages Vocabulary in French – A1 Level

three friends speaking multiple languages together

Do you love talking about languages – the ones you speak, the ones you’d love to speak, the ones you find intriguing? Then you’ll want to master our essential (but by no means exhaustive) list of languages in French and its interactive Word Game!

Another great way to remember new vocabulary is to write sentences using it in context. Here’s an example for you to get inspired:

Dans mon groupe d’amis, on parle plein de langues différentes, en plus du français et de l’anglais ! Mon amie Paula parle l’espagnol, le portugais et l’italien, et elle étudie aussi le mandarin. Naveen, lui, parle l’hindi, l’allemand et le polonais, et il connaît un peu de russe. Et moi, je parle coréen, japonais et j’aimerais beaucoup apprendre l’arabe. Vive les langues !

À vous de jouer !

Let’s fill in some blanks!
