Les Choristes - juxtaposition of ‘de’ and ‘par.’

Please can someone explain the use of ‘envoûter de par?’ I would have expected ‘envoûter de...’ or ‘envoûter par...’

Also, in the same paragraph, can ‘que l’on rencontre’ equally be ‘qu’on rencontre?’

Thanking you in advance!

Hi Joy,

1. The preposition 'de par' means 'du fait de'.

It is a more elegant way to say 'by' in French.

2. que l'on again is more elevated than qu'on which would be acceptable in spoken French

Hope this helps and that you enjoyed my film reviews.
