In India, yoga is a way of life which includes physical and spiritual principles whose aim is to achieve harmony of body and mind with the world around us. Yoga puts emphasis on breathing with specific exercises, "pranayamas" in Sanskrit, that teach [one] to better control one's breath, which in turn improves the oxygenation of the blood, organs, muscles ... As for yoga poses, their countless benefits range from a better body alignment to (an) increased flexibility and stronger joints. Moreover, yoga offers many styles to choose from that all vary in intensity and (in) difficulty, which makes it accessible to older people or people with reduced mobility. Finally, let's not forget the meditative side of yoga whose efficiency in relieving stress and anxiety has been proven, as well as its positive impact on sleep and mental health in general.
