How the test works

Here's a preview of the text for the writing challenge, when you're ready click the start button above:

- Alice, how did your family holiday [US: vacation] in the Dordogne go? - We all had a blast, despite a few unexpected little hiccups! We already knew the campsite where we'd booked our mobile home, since my father has been spending all his summers there for about twenty years. So this year, we decided to join him there for two weeks so that he could enjoy his grandchildren... and (so that) we could take advantage of his babysitting services every now and then! - What an excellent plan! What went wrong? - Nothing much, except that halfway through our holiday [US: vacation], one of the water pipes burst inside the mobile home! It happened while we were out for the day, so you can imagine our faces when we came back and found a partially flooded living room! Fortunately, none of our belongings were damaged and, to apologise for the inconvenience, the campsite even moved us to a bigger mobile home, with its own jacuzzi!
