Hi Kay,

In the text, it can only be accord for agreement as you are talking of agreeing in grammatical terms.

In the sphere of understanding and alliance between institutions, companies, etc. both 'entente' and 'accord' are used slightly differently, the latter one being more formal which may also have legal ramifications but I am not a lawyer so cannot comment any further.

Bonne Continuation!

Hi Kay,

As I understand it  ----- "L'entente" lends itself to "bonne relation" / understanding, but in a more formal context as in "L'entente cordiale"  --  series of agreements between countries.

"L'accord" (Accorder) agreement/harmony/friendliness perhaps on a more personal level.

I'm commenting as an anglophone, however so perhaps best to see what Cécile can add.

Hope this helps

Jim
