Asking a question in French

Wouldn't "Allez-vous au cinéma ce soir" without a question mark be a statement i.e. Go to the cinema tonight?

Just to add to this, Rob, a statement never has an inversion of subject and verb, so,  'Allez-vous au cinéma?' will be a question and requires a question mark .

"Vous allez au cinéma?" with the voice rising at the end is a question .

"Ok, d'accord, vous allez au cinéma demain." is a statement.

Hope this helps!

Hi Rob,

Allez au cinéma! -- Go to the movies. This is a command.
Allez-vous au cinéma? -- Are you going to the movies. This is a question.

I believe even without the exclamation point or question mark this would be identifiable as such.
