Cléfs or clés ?

My answer of clés was corrected to cléfs. Is that correct?

Also in the phrase: Tu as apporté la monnaie que j'avais mise de côté exprès ?

I can't hear "avais" pronounced, is it just me mishearing?

1. clés or clefs is accepted for keys

2. 'avais' is there it may just be a speed issue
