de/des before adjective

de/des before adjective

From the week 71 A1 writing challenge: "She likes eating salad and also small tomato pieces" -> "Elle aime bien manger de la salade et aussi DES petits morceaux de tomate". I had expected "..et aussi DE petits morceaux.." Isn't there a rule that 'des' loses its s when there is an adjective before the noun?

Bonjour Joakim, Voici la leçon en ce qui concerne «de vs. des» en avance d'adjectifs. Using ''de / d' '' instead of 'des' in front of adjectives preceding nouns (partitive article) Bonne chance.
I don't think des is de+les here, so it should be 'de', right?

Since «salade» takes de la, partitive, then I sense the same grammar structure would apply to «petits morceaux de tomate». Here is the lesson that discusses articles partitives. Using du, de la, de l', des to express some or any (partitive articles) Let me know your thoughts after reviewing the lesson. à bientôt
