The lesson is about using "ainsi que", so that's what is expected.

"De même que" is also a comparative phrase, which is very similar in meaning to "ainsi que". It has a bit of a stronger comparative flavor than "ainsi que".

Ainsi que -- as well as. This is an additive phrase, like "and".
De même que -- like. This is a comparative phrase.
