Finit versus en train de finir

Is the “ en  train de finir” construct also accepted for the question: “Louis is finishing his homework”?

Bonjour Preston,

Take a look at the link here where the difference (albeit minimal) is explained:

difference-without-en-train-de

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

Don’t know if it is accepted in the quiz, however you can use ‘en train de’ whenever you wish to emphasise that something is in the process of happening as you speak. Think of it as similar to the difference in English between “I’m doing it“ and ‘I’m doing it at the moment/right now” or “ I’m right in the middle of doing it” etc
