Il faut que tu ailles

Il faut que tu ailles

Not sure about this.. I have it wrong but, I suspect for the wrong reason

"________ à l'école." You must go to school.(HINT: use "falloir")Il faut aller à l'école

If you are asking YOU must, surely that demands Tu or vous.. il faut, ok, but surely this must then be il faut que tu ailles à l'école?

The lesson is about the constructions "il [pronoun] faut...", therefore the answer "il faut que..." is grammatically correct but not what is being tested.

Hi Mark,

But you could write  "Il te faut aller à l'école" where "te" is the indirect object pronoun.

If you scroll to the very end of the lesson you will find this usage.

Hope this helps.

Jim

Yes, it is testing the construction and would be fine as a question attached to the lesson but when it comes up in a general Kwiz, it is poorly expressed and is more a generalisation than a specific instruction to one person... and the alternative need to be accepted.
