In french, you will use the preposition à = to/in + [a place] and de = from + [a place]. Depending on the gender of the  location/place, this preposition will need to be contracted as explained in the lesson below.

Je vais à Paris = I am going to Paris
Je vais au cinéma = I am going to the cinema

Je viens de Paris = I come from Paris
Je viens de la tour Eiffel = I am coming from the Eiffel Tower
