Is this wrong?

Rather than using "je dois aussi acheter...," I used "il faut que j'aussi achète...." It marked me incorrect and didn't have my translation as an option. Is mine actually wrong?

Bonjour Conor,

Even though "il faut que" could be used in such as context, there is a hint asking for the verb "devoir" to avoid any ambiguity. Also the adverb "aussi" is misplaced in your answer unfortunately. It cannot be placed between a subject/subject pronoun and conjugate verb.

Il faut que j'achète aussi/également ... = I must also buy...

So, in sentences using simple tenses, "aussi" usually comes directly after the conjugated verb while, with sentences using compound tenses, is usually placed between the auxiliary verb and the past participle.

J'étudie aussi le français. = I'm studying French too.

J'ai aussi étudié le français. I also studied French.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
