As a French native speaker, I use "gâcher / gaspiller son temps" as much as "perdre son temps". They are all valid and well-known expressions in metropolitan French. But I have never heard of "dilapider son temps" although it does seem to exist (but I would wager its usage is rather outdated nowadays).

I had used flipper for freaked out. Also, I was told by my French professor that we should never use gaspiller le temps, but rather perdre le temps. I think we can also use dilapider le temps.
My French teacher always told me one doesn't use gâcher or gaspiller le temps- always perdre. Sometimes one uses dilapider le temps.
