Bonjour de nouveau Hemlata,

If it were written "Je dois retourner au bureau où j'ai laissé mes clés" that would make sense.

Bonne journée

Bonjour Hemlata,

I would be inclined to use a conjunction in this context.

"Je dois retourner au bureau car (or parce que) J'ai oublie mes clés"

By using a conjunction (car or parce que) I am expressing justification/explanation as to why it is necessary for me to return to the office.

Hope this helps

Bonne continuation

Jim

Merci Jim, car makes absolute sense here. However, i was doing an exercise which gives me only où or dont as options, hence my query.

What do you think?

Hello Hemlata,

In my opinion, I think if you say:

...,dont j'ai oublié mes clés = ..., whose keys I lost --> I don't think it makes sense because "dont" is replacing "bureau"

But if you say:

..., où j'ai oublié mes clés (like Jim's answer) = ..., where I lost my keys --> I think this makes more sense

Où or dont
