placement of adverb in passé composé
this is from one of the B1 tests.
why is 'j'ai lu seulement des romans français' correct? shouldn't it be 'j'ai seulement lu des romans français'?

Bonjour Mazie !
Here the adverb "seulement" is used as a restrictive, and as such, will tend to be placed in front of the element it's restricting, similarly to the "que" in the negative expression "ne...que".
