Pluriel ou singular

How can you distinguish "le costume" form "les costumes" while listening. It sounds the same for me.

Hi Henrik,

You might find the following page useful to practice the sounds in 'le' and 'les' -

https://parlons-francais.tv5monde.com/webdocumentaires-pour-apprendre-le-francais/Memos/Phonetique/p-119-lg0-Les-sons-e-et-.htm

Hope this helps!

Hi Henrik,

I have just noticed that it says under the heading -

"Sabrina has decided to help with her daughter's school costumes " so there was the hint.

When I listen to guys on this site I can easily distinguish the sounds, but when the voice of this exercise speaks fast I see no way to know that it is plural "les" and not singular "le". So it doesn't help. :-(

Besides, why she is making more than one costume?

She's making more than one costume because the other mothers crapped out per usual.
