Possible use of persuader de

In the last sentence, "Bien que la nature soit l'élément principal dans mes projets artistiques, mon but est d'amener les gens à faire une pause, à réfléchir et à ressentir des émotions à travers mon travail.", the verbs amener à and inciter à were accepted for ”to get”.  I tried persuader de, which was not accepted.  Should it be a possibility ?

Bonjour Frank,

This is a very interesting question!

The verb "persuader" has a stronger implication of convincing or arguing to change someone's opinion or behaviour.

Marc a persuadé Henri de partir sans causer de problème = Marc persuaded Henri to leave without causing any issue.

In the sentence from the exercise, the idea is more about gently leading or inspiring people to engage in reflection and emotion, rather than convincing them to do so. This sense of guiding or gently prompting is carried in "amener à" and "inciter à".

L'institutrice a incité ses élèves à réfléchir aux conséquences de la Second Guerre mondiale = The teacher encouraged her students to reflect on the consequences of WWII.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
