Que des jeudis

Qu'est-ce que ca veut dire Il n'y aurait que des jeudis? Que les etudiants iraient en classeseulement les jeudis? ou les jeudis seraient les seules jours libres?

France Gall est une chanteuse de mon temps et à cette époque on n'allait pas à l'école (primaire) ni le jeudi et ni le dimanche.
De nos jours je pense que les élèves ont parfois le mercredi après-midi et le weekend de libre depuis 2007.
At the time of France Gall, children didn't go to school on Thursdays so to say -
il n'y aurait que des jeudis = there would only be Thursdays 
means that school wouldn't exist. 
Children have always blamed Charlemagne for inventing school!

I'm sorry, Maarten, but in my opinion, your answer doesn’t address the point of the question, one which I was asking myself.

What is spécial about le jeudi ? As long as I have lived in France, Thursday is the same as Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

(As another writer pointed out, kids get out of school around Noon on Wednesdays, in order to attend catéchisme classes.)
