RTT in dictee

What does RTT mean?  I had never heard of this term in the dictée and its not the sort of thing that is covered in the explaining lessons

Hi Andrea,

There is a list of some terms ( including RTT) under the title of the exercise.

I believe it is all to do with the 35 hour week which is the norm in France and a way to get time off in lieu, or overtime payment if you go over the statutory hours.

But if you are interested in how it is used by companies, take a look at this article which is a good reading exercise too.

Hope this helps!

I’m not familiar with the exercise, but RTT often means réduction du temps de travail.

At the start of each exercise they give us some terms to look up before commencing, and for this dictation one of them was "une RTT (Réduction du Temps de Travail)". My guess is it could be like what we call "Flexitime" in Australia. The name might vary from one place to another, but something like having some time off in lieu for working overtime.
