Hi J,

You can say -

Ouf! j'ai fini mes examens Phew! I have finished (taking) my exams

In French, you cannot say 'prendre un examen', it is 'passer un examen' for simply to sit it.

To say you passed an exam you would say for instance-

J'ai réussi mes examens de fin d'année = I have passed my final exams

( or even j'ai eu mes examens)

Hope this helps!

J'ai passé mes examens - I did (took) my exams; J'ai fini mes examens - I finished my exams. If you mean what is the difference in meaning, much the same as the difference between the phrases in English. "I took my exams" is not great English, and as far as I am aware the 'equivalent' in French of «J'ai pris mes examens» is not used (but a native speaker may be able to advise if it is in colloquial use).
