Using 'd'autres choses'

You say you can never use des autres to express some other things, but when i translated, 'I have other shoes' on google translater it came up as ' j'ai d'autres chaussures.' So i'm very confused.Is Google translater wrong?

Bonjour Nadine,

Indeed, you cannot say "des autres [things]" in French (i.e. j'ai des autres chaussures) to express "some other [things]". Instead, you will use:

d'autres [things]

J'ai d'autres chaussures = I have other shoes

J'ai d'autres robes = I have other dresses
