I don`t understand why  this sentence ("She hid until he left." ?after)  could not be the second sentence below just as much as it could be the first one....  

Elle s'est cachée jusqu'à ce qu'il soit parti.      Correct Elle s'est cachée jusqu'à ce qu'il parte.              Wrong
This question relates to:French lesson "Jusqu'à ce que + Le Subjonctif = Until [someone] does [something] in French"
