verbs with direct object
Hi Layra L.,
This is a vast subject and just to add to Jim's excellent answer, it is a question of verb 'transitivity' or 'intransitivity' and you will find some lessons about both concepts in the following lessons -
Also please note -
transitive verbs ----> direct objects
intransitive verbs ----> indirect objects
Speaking generally, while there's a strong tendency for transitive verbs to remain transitive across languages, it's not an absolute rule.
Always check a reliable dictionary or grammar resource when dealing with specific verbs, especially when learning a new language or translating between languages.
I hope this helps
Bonjour Layra,
This relates to transitivity and is a tricky aspect of French grammar.
Some verbs are transitive and require an object either direct or via a preposition (indirect).
I cannot find a suitable Kwiziq lesson to direct you to but can suggest that you review the following link:-

I suggest that you study the above and any links from that site; to help aid your overall understanding.
Bonne continuation
Jim
