Why isn't auquel used here?

C'était tout ce à quoi je m'intéressais.Why à quoi? Why not auquel since it's s'intéresser à [qch] ?Thank you!

Jim is correct that 'auquel' wouldn't be used here. Have a look at the examples below:
Le film auquel je pense est une comédie = the film about which I am thinking about is a comedy

C'était tout ce à quoi je m'intéressais -> C'était tout ce qui m'intéressait

Dis-moi ce à quoi tu penses (penser à [qqch]) = Tell me what you are thinking about
C'est ce à quoi il s'est préparé (se préparer à [qqch]) = This is what he prepared for

Hi Tibor,"C'était tout ce à quoi je m'intéressais."         ---->  "That was all that I was interested in"       Intéresser (qqn) à (qch)"Auquel"  is a relative pronoun that is used to introduce a relative clause relating back to a noun mentioned previously in the sentence.Therefore auquel has no role in this case.Hope this helps.Jim
