For the B2 exercise, one of the sentences is "The girls were very excited!" What's the most native way to translate that sentence?

I would say "Les filles étaient très excitées". Though the adjective "excité" tends to have a more sexual connotation in French, it's not the case when talking about children being enthusiastic :)
You could also use the expression "Les filles ne tenaient pas en place" - i.e. they couldn't stay still - though it's slightly vaguer.
