What is wrong here?

Hang on, the example says les chats voient dans la nuit so why is Les chats gris voient dans la nuit wrong and the wanted answer Les chats gris voient la nuit?

Hi mark,

Actually , two different expressions are used for the cats examples -

Voir dans le noir To see in the dark

Voir la nuit To see at night

So if you look at the examples again; you will see what I mean.

Jim J.C1 Kwiziq Q&A super contributor

Hi Mark,

I imagine the answer is that "Cats see at night" is a kind of generic fact. There is no need for a preposition (dans).

Of course, it is not exclusive to grey cats.

Hope this helps?

Jim

I would think that "Les chats voient bien la nuit" expresses cats, grey or otherwise, ability to see well at night?

Hi,

I know in each example I do, you want me to focus on a grammar point . Sometimes, I need to read further more  the other grammar points. How can I find them on your page. For example, your sentense is :” Nous (“ voir “in le présent) tant de belles choses!”. In this case , I would like to learn about the use of “tant”. Where can I find this? Thanks,

Why not use google, like you would to find other things on the internet?

Thanks for your answer. I know what you have said. But there, there are many pages and their arrangement are not tidy and clear. I like the presentation for each item of Kwiziq: clear , complete, easy to understand. Could you please introduce to me such a page? Thanks a lot

I am taking the French tests in level A2.It is not a high level . So I think Kwiziq has the the lectures I demand at higher level. In reality, there are many grammar points  I have learnt before but I can not remember all about them . I just only read them again so that I can use them better. Thanks.

Have you tried to look in the "Library" section of kwiziq?

I have not known that section on kwiziq. After your answer, I will try it. Thanks a lot.
