Prescriptive versus descriptive EnglishI read the Q&A for this lesson on collective nouns and the discussion at https://french.kwiziq.com/is-this-english-correct and I see where Kwiziq is coming from. However, it would clearer for many Engliish speakers if you left out the "how it is in English" versus "how it is in French" comparisons. There are too many interpretations of collective nouns in different forms of English, and many of us haven't learnt the English prescriptions, so we are probably making frequent mistakes in English. In other words, just give teach the French grammar.

In your example: "Tu étais encore avec Stéphane la dernière fois que je t'ai vue." isn't the past participle of voir 'vu'? If so, the sentence should

Is this only for the literal action or can it be used figuratively as well? (such as someone who's in line for the throne.)

Use of 'auquel' / à qui instead of 'que'

In the lesson ‘Que = Whom, which, that (relative pronouns)’ an example sentence is given as:

‘La femme que je dessine’

An example sentence from this lesson is: ‘Le chat, auquel tu as fait peur’ OR ‘Le chat, à qui tu as fait peur’

I’m struggling to understand why is ‘Le chat, que tu as fait peur’ is not used?
