I’ve seen things like:
Je veux qu’elle vienne
Je ne veux pas qu’elle vienne
But I haven’t (yet) seen:
Je veux qu’elle ne vienne pas
Does this occur in French? Can the “ne pas” wrap around the subjunctive verb?
Hi. I love these dictées. Is there any way of getting access to more of them?
Thanks
Megan
Hello -
For "We are leaving at 4", I chose, "Nous quittons à quatre heures" instead of "Nous partons à quatre heures", because the lesson says partir must be followed by de or pour when it is not used on its own. Why is "Nous partons à quatre heures" correct? And why is "Nous quittons à quatre heures" wrong?
Hi. I'm wondering about the sentence Elles ne se sont pas rasees cette semaine./ They didin't shave this week. You would normally associate shaving with men, not women as in your example. Wouldn't it be better to change the subject of the sentence to ILS ne sont pas rases cette semaine, and a week being a long time to go without shaving, the end could be
ce matin, not cette semaine. and you would get a nice sentence
They (men) didn't shave this morning.
Why is "la flatterie nous plâit" correct ..... and not "la flatterie nous à plâit"?
They (LF) show le chocolat plâit à Marie as an example.
For the sentence "je joue au beach volley avec Lydia et notre équipe gagne", why is "gagner" take the form of "gagne" instead of "gagnons"? I would think since it is "our team winning" it would be "notre équipe gagnons", but I think I am missing something here!
Nous ne nous sommes pas levés tôt. Ils ne se sont pas brossé les dents .
Are these sentences correct? Should the past participle still agree with the noun? Could you provide more examples please. Thanks in advance.
