Chère petite amie or chère amie
In 2.Sa ___ le quitte. (His dear girlfriend leaves him, I put petite amie which I thought meant girlfriend, but am marked as nearly right, correct answer being chère amie?

Here, we used the term "girlfriend" as in "girl friend" to infer gender, however your answer is also perfectly correct, so we've edited the question as to mark it as correct too.

I've also seen copine when referring to a girlfriend. But that was also marked wrong.
