The question was to translate, "You will ask me for money...." but the correct answer was "vous demanderez DE...." not "vous demandez A". I thought when you ask someone for something it was "demander a"

Demander "a" or demande "de"
This question relates to:French lesson "Conjugate regular -er and -ir verbs in the future tense in French (Le Futur Simple)"
Asked 5 years ago

Hi Joanne,
The correct expression is -
demander à quelqu'un de faire quelque chose = to ask someone to do something
so:
Il m'a demandé de lui donner de l'argent = He asked me to give him/her some money
Nous avons demandé aux enfants de se coucher tôt = We asked the children to go to be early
Hope this helps!
