How to conjugate Aller

So you only use va/vont? And do you conjugate with the person or the object?

Eg la rose va a ma sœur - is it la rose or ma sœur that is triggering these use of va?

In the same way, how would you say the rose suits us?

Hi Richard,

Just to add to Chris' answer you can have also a 3rd person plural form 'vont' as in the lesson example -

Les chapeaux ne vont pas du tout à mon copain Hats don't suit my boyfriend at all

La rose is the subject of the sentence, and dictates the verb form. You can easily tell in French what the verb is because it comes first.

La rose va à ma seur. -- The rose suits my sister.
La rose nous va. -- The rose suits us.

Just like in French, in English the verb "to suit" is always in 3rd person singular forms ("suits") because it, too, matches the subject.
