ignorer- to not know

Question

In the connaître/savoir lesson in Lawless French , it says ignorer is a faux-ami. it actually means 'not to know' and not 'to ignore'. Do you agree with this? I have seen it in other places like Reverso where it is used as -to ignore.

Bonjour Radhika,
It depends on the context:
- To not know: 
Mon mari ignore tout de mon passé. = My husband does not know anything about my past.
- To not take into account:
Mon patron a ignoré mes recommendations. = My boss ignored my recommandations.
- To not pay attention to:
Lola a ignoré Patrick toute la soirée. = Lola snubbed Patrick all evening.
