Is it right to use excité here?

>Les filles étaient tout excitées de voir le feu d'artifice.

I might be wrong, but I hear everywhere that "excité" has a sexual connotation in French, unlike in English. If it's right, I think it would be better to change the adjective here.

This question relates to:French lesson "Tout/tous/toute/toutes = Everything/all (of them)/whole/completely in French"
