quick question: in French you say "ce sont NOS livres". Why is le pluriel of "le nôtre", written as "les nôtres" in this lesson?!

les notres?!
Bonjour Merik,
As Maarten pointed out there are different ways of expressing possession in French:
C'est mon livre = This is my book -> Possessive adjectives
Ce sont mes livres = These are my books -> Possessive adjectives
Ce sont nos livres = These are our books -> Possessive adjectives
-> Mon, ma, mes; ton, ta, tes; son, sa, ses = my; your; his / her (possessive adjectives) - Notre, nos, votre, vos, leur, leurs = our, your, their (possessive adjectives)
C'est le mien = This is mine -> Possessive pronouns
Ce sont les miens = These are mine -> Possessive pronouns
C'est le nôtre = This is ours -> Possessive pronouns
Ce sont les nôtres = These are ours -> Possessive pronouns
-> Le mien, le tien, le sien, etc = Mine, yours, his/hers/its (possessive pronouns) - Le nôtre, le vôtre, le leur, etc = Ours, yours, theirs (possessive pronouns)
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
Not sure what you are querying. You seem to be mixing up 2 different ways to describe “possession” in French. There are a number of different ways to express possession. The plural of le nôtre is les nôtres. https://french.kwiziq.com/search?s=Possessive+
