Mon/Ma

The first answer is “C'est mon époque”, but why use mon (instead of ma) when époque is female? Compare this with one of the other answers “C’est ma période...”.

Hi Brian,

Just to add to Judy’s excellent answer, please take a look at the following Kwiziq lesson explaining this little rule which makes pronunciation easier.

This also applies to ‘ton’ and ‘son’ -

https://french.kwiziq.com/revision/grammar/use-mon-not-ma-with-feminine-nouns-starting-with-a-vowel-or-mute-h-possessive-adjectives

Hope this helps!
