Bonjour Teresa,

There is a verb 'se tromper' that means 'to make a mistake' ( 'se tremper' means to get yourself soaked ), but it is not quite the same as 'to be wrong'.

Elle s'est trompée, la visite est la semaine prochaine She made a mistake, the visit is next week

Il s'est trompé de route = He took the wrong road

This lesson concentrates on the use of 'avoir' ( to have) in French rather than être ( to be) in English.

Hope this helps!
