She's going (will be) to be so happy

In the last question I chose to use sera and not va être and I wonder why this was considered to be incorrect. I know the difference and if being rigid yes, it's wrong but of course some people will say "will be" rather than "going to be" so some latitude would be helpful.

Hi Dave,

You make a good point but the future and the near future are two different tenses and as this exercise is A1 we would not expect a student of that level to know the future tense

Maybe your level is higher than you think?

Hi Cécile

I routinely try A2 lessons and tests alongside A1 so I didn't realise that A1 was so rigid with regards what is expected of an A1 student. In truth, I can't seem to get off the A1 level even though I score highly in A2 in most tests. If you have any advice I'm all ears.

Best Dave

Hi Dave. I used the words un rayon for a shelf and was marked wrong. I was wondering why. Maureen

Hi Maureen,

In France, you will talk of étagères in a house and 'rayons' or 'rayonnage' ( shelving) in a shop.

Take a look at the following page from a well known store -
